Case Study elterUNIversum
Background
Stefanie from elternUNIversum approached us after I met her in a networking meeting.
She was at the beginning of her business journey for elternUNIversum and was also already running another successful business (The Spirit In You). Stefanie needed a brand and a logo and came to us with ideas but needed help with executing those. She had written most of her course content which gave us great insights.
Challenge
The first challenge was the logo and the brand design. Stefanie had ideas of colours and also worked with an intuitive coach that, based on their work together – painted a picture that reflected Stefanie’s emotions and intent with elternUNIversum. We were presented with a beautiful painting that we took as the base for inspiration for her logo and brand. She asked us to incorporate as many details from the picture as possible which wasn’t easy considering how many details there were.
The second challenge was her dislike of social media (but equally realising its great potential). She asked for help in content creation and how to engage with her audience.
Approach
Our graphic designer Dan used the painting and course content as inspiration. This wasn’t as easy as it sounds, because many of the details in the picture were very small and hard to translate into a graphic. So, we created several drafts for Stefanie to review with the idea that we started with the basics and added one detail at a time to be able to stop when she thought it was getting too much. This approach is great when a client wants a lot of things incorporated into his designs.
Never forgetting that the client needs to connect with the logo we worked hard to make Stefanie’s ideas come to life but also, we also focussed on the importance of it speaking to the ideal client.
When the logo was approved by Stefanie, we started applying secondary colours and fonts, which were recorded in a brand guide, ready for Stefanie to use across her business communications, like her website and printed materials. We provide logos in serval sizes and formats, so they are easy to use on all different platforms.
Once the brand was in place, Stefanie booked a social media content planning session with me. In 2 hours, we planned the content for the coming 3 months, showing her what types of posts to use and how to increase engagement. This included using hashtags, when to post, how to schedule, using branded templates and making the most of story and reel content.
Outcome
Creating a brand isn’t just about the log or pretty colours. Basing your design on WHAT the business is about and WHO it is talking to, is essential.
The fact that Stefanie had already created most of her course content enabled us to dive deep into the business and understand the message.
Stefanie is now set up with a brand she can apply to all aspects of her business and with an understanding of how to utilise social media to attract her ideal clients.
